Super Noah and the Magic Stroller

Every week in school at Temple Sholom, Noah's teachers put out a newletter with photos and comments. This week this was in the newletter with the following picture. We re-read this over and over and even started writing our own chapter book about Super Noah and Magic Stroller! We are up to Chapter 5.
"It is such a pleasure to watch our class’ ability to play cooperatively for longer periods of time blossom. In this picture, it was a normal day at the garage until the unthinkable happened: bear attack! Thank goodness Super Noah and his magic stroller were around to distract the bear and allow business at the garage to continue as usual. " So what else is happening in the world of Super Noah? He's spending more and more time with his sister.
He's thriving at Karate. And still has time for his work...yes, we think this is "Noah at work" And with all this hard work, here is a typical day in Noah's world!

In His Own Words

Noah was looking at these pictures, and we asked him to tell a story about what he was doing. He made up the story and I just typed what he said about each picture. This is NOAH's BLOG in his own words.

I was getting ready to go to school. This is "Teddy Bear Shabbat", and I wore my Big Brother Pajamas and took "Noah Dog" with me. I didn't really want to. I walked out the door, then I said hi to my teacher. That wasn't as sad as I wanted to be.

I was doing Karate. I was doing really good. I thought I was. And also I really like Karate so much. I was home and I really wanted to play. And I did. The slippers were funny. I was pretending that I was mom.
I was making a recipe and it was for a Gingerbread man and I was doing good, and also I was doing really good. And the Gingerbread came. That's the end.
I was playing Wii and I was doing so good. I had a hard time jumping. I had to jump 3 times and it still didn't work. It was the Madagascar game and I couldn't jump up.I was laying in bed with my mom, and I was reading the story. That's the end.

That's my story. Love, Noah

Swords and Snowballs

We've had a fun week in our house. Noah and Brendan were having a sword fight (a little to rough!) And after the first small storm, the snow was melting and Noah and David went out and had a little snowball fight! Noah makes big snowballs! It wasn't too cold.
And when we came in, it was back to his Leapster Explorer! Anywhere, anytime.....!

Noah at Karate

Noah went to his first Karate class today. We're not sure where it came from but he decided he wanted to do Karate. We found Ed Samane's Karate studio. It was a small class today as you can see with only 2 students. But Noah's teacher was really great. Check out this little man.

They started with a few laps around the gymAnd then the real Karate began! At the end, Noah did so well, and learned the 7 "magic words", that he earned his first (white) belt. There was a little ceromony to present his belt at the end of the class. He also has the opportunity to earn stripes for his belt by doing good things at home and at school without being asked. We will keep you updated and let you know how that is going!

Christmas on Crum Creek Rd 2010

As you all know, this was a particularly difficult Christmas. Grammy left us Christmas eve day, and Kathy and Sophie were still in the hospital. But we knew everyone would want to be sure Christmas went on as normal as possible for all the kids, and the Harney's and Grampy were with us in Philadelphia. And low and behold, Santa found our house for not just Noah, but for everyone. Thanks everyone for all the great gifts!Grampy got all the kids tickets to Disney's Toy Story 3 on Ice and all the boys went together. We ate popcorn, slushies, and Noah had a huge bag of cotton candy. But for $12 it came with a cool Alien Cap! This little guy sure had a great time! To steal a phrase, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
